Greenville Forward's mission is to enhance the quality of life for greater Greenville by engaging citizens in continually updating, promoting, and facilitating a community vision for 2025 and beyond.
Vision 2025 dares to imagine a community whose growth is fueled by creativity, ignited by the power of ideas, and fired by the goal of excellence. Vision 2025 is just a glimpse into the future of Greenville. It's a commitment to improving our community to match the changing times around us.
Greenville Health Assessment Survey. Over the last ten years, the Greenville Health Assessment has conducted over 4,800 telephone interviews showing that 37% of Greenvillians are medically underserved. This is an increase from 31% just ten years ago.
Greenville Plan It Resident Survey .
Greenville Forward and the City of Greenville partnered to conduct a comprehensive survey of 700 Greenvillians to explore the opinions of residents. The survey is part of the 10 year comprehensive planning process.
Race Matters Survey.
In 1948, Greenville conducted a study of the state of race relations in Greenville. In partnership with Beyond Differences and other organizations, Greenville Forward conducted a replication of this study, with some additions, to explore how race relations have changed in Greenville County over the generations. Dialogues about the findings are happening in the next few months. Although race relations have improved, we still have some work to do. Read the GreenvilleOnline assessment.
Economic Scorecard.
Greenville Forward partnered with the Greenville Chamber of Commerce and others to sponsor the Clemson Upstate Economic Scorecard. Compared to peer and aspirant communities, Greenville's per capita income is not growing as rapidly.
Civic Engagement Survey.
Greenville has a strong history of giving. In partnership with the Non-Profit Alliance, Greenville Forward conducted a survey among Greenville businesses on volunteerism to better understand Greenville's philanthropic community. Some of the results may surprise you. Download the report.

This is the detailed version, with plans for all of the focus areas. This also includes the "list of projects." The Vision is constantly evolving, so many of the visions have changed slightly in the three years since the Vision was presented. As a matter of fact, this vision is almost outdated.

Upstate Growth Projections. Upstate Forever released a study conducted by Clemson which projects the growth patterns in the Upstate. If we don't plan for our future, we are going to be in a mess.
Greenville Magazine Vision Voice. For the first year and a half, Greenville Magazine and the Cliffs published monthly articles related to Vision 2025. They provide a concise, yet complete description of many Greenville Forward initiatives. We have compiled them all into one document.
